TRIBUTE: LATE DR. GODWIN G. UMOH

" The righteous pass away; the godly often die before their time

And no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to

Understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come.

For the godly who die will rest in peace..." (Isaiah 57:1-2).

On behalf of the Chairman and the Board of Trustees of Nka Ima Ndito Nsit Atai Ke North America Inc., President, and the Executive, members of the association, and the entire people of Nsit Atai in Diaspora wish to commiserate with Mrs. Uduak Umoh, and the entire family on the demise of your beloved husband, father, and friend, Doctor Godwin Gabriel Umoh which sad event occurred on Monday, March 8th, 2021.

Doctor Godwin Umoh's transition to the higher realm evoked the strongest of passions and emotions from all and sundry who knew him personally. And for these pertinent reasons, here was a man wholly sold to the service for humanity; a first-class servant of God and a willing ambassador of Nsit Atai, whose life epitomized the rarest of virtues. He had an uncommonly deep awareness of the divine control of human destiny. He was guided by this conviction and principle till he breathed his last.

For us in Nka Ima Ndito Nsit Atai Ke North America Inc., his somewhat departure is a deep loss. We are consoled by the fact nevertheless, that he fully finished his course before his death, leaving behind huge footmarks embossed in gold in the pantheon of honor reserved for the greats. He was elected by Nsit indigenes in North America as their first President when they established and launched an organization known as "Nka Ima Ndito Nsit Atai, North America (NINNANA) Inc." on September 3rd, 2011. He will be fondly remembered for the first medical mission the association performed in Nsit Atai Local Government Area in 2013. Dr. Umoh had an uncompromising commitment to the proclamation and defense of the unadulterated Nsit custom, tradition, and Ibibio culture.

Doctor Godwin Umoh is not dead, because death has no power over him, and he lives in our hearts. He has fought the good fight, he finished his race and kept the faith, and therefore is resting with the Lord. Dr. Umoh, you taught those that came in contact with you to be truthful, kind, loving, honest, and God-fearing. Now you have gone ahead of many of those you counseled and guided with love. Well, keep resting, we shall meet you there, to part no more. Adieu!!

Imeh Akpan - President
